Licenses can be renewed six (6) months prior to expiration.

Renewing a REAL ID Compliant Driver's License with a Gold Star
If your driver's license has a gold star on the upper right corner, you generally do not need to bring any documents unless:

  • Name has changed
  • Address has changed
  • Documents are missing

**We strongly recommend all required documents be brought at the time of your renewal to help ensure timely processing and avoid any potential delays.**

If you are a non-immigrant or temporary resident, you must provide the necessary legal presence documents.

Renewing a Driver's License Without a Gold Star
If your driver's license does not have a gold star or if it is a limited purpose driver's license, and you wish to apply for a REAL ID compliant driver's license with a gold star, you will need to provide the following documents (note:  documents should not be laminated, torn, or have holes):

  1. Proof of Name and Date of Birth:  Original or certified copy.

  3. Proof of Residence Address:  Two (2) documents.  If your mailing address is different from your physical address, you will need to provide one (1) document with mailing address and one (1) with physical address.

Renewing a Limited Purpose Driver's License
If you have changed your name or address, you must provide documentation of these changes in order to renew your limited purpose driver's license.

  1. Complete and print a driver license application .  This must be presented during your visit.
  2. Provide the required documents.
